Short Description

The Spice3 library provides a subset of the Berkeley SPICE3 models. The library allows the simulation of electronic circuits in a more precise way than the MSL. Especially the simulation of widely used SPICE netlists in Modelica is prepared by this library.

Long Description

With starting the development of Modelica, models for electrical circuits were taken into consideration. Since SPICE and its derivatives grew to a quasi standard in electronics simulation the SPICE models had to become available within Modelica additionally. Therefore, this library provides a subset of the original Berkeley SPICE3 models. Furthermore, some additions will be prepared to cover some of the PSPICE models. A SPICE netlist translator to Modelica is not yet available, but under development. The SPICE3 semiconductor models were directly extracted from the SPICE3 source code. Model extraction was only possible with the Berkeley SPICE3 simulator since it is the only known electric circuit simulation program with open source code. The Library contains the following models from the SPICE3 model set:

  1.  Basics (R, L, C, G, controlled sources)
  2.  Mosfet level 1 transistor
  3.  Diode
  4.  Bipolar transistors
  5.  Semiconductor resistor
  6.  Sources
